Update-December 12, 2012

We have now been married 30 years. While I have gotten much older, she is still beautiful as always.  However, her purpose in life (indulge the children while sacrificing the well being of the Jeep) has NOT changed. Indeed, now we siphon off jeep funds for the children, remodeling the house, niece and nephews, the flat-earth society, and anything else she can think of.  Kinda brings a tear to your eye doesn’t it?

Update-September 2016

We just celebrated our 35th anniversary. Amazing!  Of course, Carol was only 12 when got married (wink).  Even more amazing,  we started dating in 1977 (39 years ago).  Her main purpose in life continues to be to indulge the children while sacrificing the well being of the Jeep. If I complain.... the Rath of SWMBO is unleashed.  Despite her willingness to let the Jeep suffer, she is still the love of my life!

So as we watch this American Classic slowly fade away, one is reminded of Herbert Morrison's 1937 broadcast when he spoke the words "...oh the humanity" during the destruction of the Hindenburg. Words that still resonate today as we watch the neglect of the jeep. (For the younger crowd, Seinfield's character "Newman" spoke those same words when his truck caught fire)

May 20, 2006 - Shannon (aka. Perpetrator #1)

Shannon, 21 years old, a senior in college in Los Angeles. Despite being awarded scholarships to Arizona universities, she chose to attend one of the nations top liberal arts college(she was awarded a scholarship to this school also). Although she claimed it to be a better fit for her and that her high school work got her accepted to a top school, I know the truth. She wanted to leave home to break Dad’s heart and keep him so depressed he won’t want to play with jeep. The fact that she still has a B+ GPA gives the Jeep no comfort.

Update-December 12, 2012

Shannon graduated college “cum laude” and had a good job waiting for her.  She has changed jobs several times in the past 5 years and with each change, she moved toward her “dream job”. Working for Boom Studios in Los Angeles.  She is doing very well there and was recently promoted to full Editor.

Along the way she has learned to cook and has become a knowledgable “foodie”. She has a great apartment with her dear friend Michelle.  Now, having read all these wonderful developments in Shannon’s life you might be thinking “... well she can’t be impacting the Jeeps resources”.  Well think again.  Car repairs, apartments to outfit, on and on and on......... Meanwhile, the jeep continues to suffer!

Update-September 2016

Shannon’s career at Boom Studios has thrived. She is senior editor, co-created a very successful comic book (Lumberjanes), won 3 Eisner awards, and numerous other wards in her industry.

She has moved into her own very nice apartment and has a new little dog named Sage.

May 20, 2006 - Daniel (aka. Perpetrator #2)

Daniel, 19 years old, graduated as Valedictorian from his high school. Once again, like his sister, despite being awarded scholarships to Arizona universities, he is choosing to attend a top tier college in Los Angeles(he has been awarded a scholarship to this school also). Dan was a little more creative in his "I have to go to LA excuse" though. Get this, just because he auditioned for and made the Arizona All-State Jazz Band twice and the Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Youth Band twice as a guitarist, he thinks he has talent and that his best chance to expand that talent (while earning his degree) is to be where the “music scene” is. Of course, his mother swallowed this hook, line, and sinker! He is now a Sophomore in college in Los Angeles. His first CD is available here.

Update-December 12, 2012

Daniel recorded his second CD during his senior year and released it a couple of months before graduation. The second CD can be purchased here.

Daniel graduated from college “magna cum laude” with honors.  After graduation, he moved to Denver to form a band and begin his music career.  There he teamed up with Jenna, a good friend from high school, and “The Oak Creek Band” was born.  The band released their first CD in early 2011(using Jeep funds). Purchase the Oak Creek Band here.

Somewhere along the way Daniel and Jenna fell in love and were married in September 2011.  It was beautiful! Unfortunately for the Jeep, more funds went the way of the dodo bird.  I also acquired another “Perpetrator 2A”.

Update-September 2016

Daniel & Jenna moved to Nashville for 2 years and continued to learn and expand their music skills.   They recorded 2 albums while in Nashville, “XI” and  “Glorietta”. Both were under the OAK CREEK BAND name.  I say that because they recently (2015) moved to Austin, TX, reformed the band with a new name “The Watters”.  They just released a new full length album “Great Unknown”.

So relocations, new albums, new touring vehicle, all contribute to the death of a thousand cuts for the Jeep.

May 20, 2006 - Carol (aka. She Who Must Be Obeyed)

Carol, my lovely wife of 25+ years. Her main purpose in life is to indulge the children while sacrificing the well being of the Jeep. In this picture, she fains affection probably because she just got back from shopping or just purchased another indulgence for the children. Her latest outrage against the Jeep was to use funds that could have given the Jeep a new "everything", on a family trip to Ireland to celebrate our 25th anniversary. While I did enjoy the Guinness Stout, my enjoyment was tempered by guilt knowing the jeep still suffers.

Update- August 2020

Shannon's career continues to thrive. Despite the constant pressures of producing and editing nearly 2 dozen books every month, she still loves what she is doing and teh opportunities she is able to provide young talented artists, writers, and colorist.  Shannon is considered among the "top" of her field.

Shannon has also found a wonderful partner in Branden.  They are a great team both creatively and personally.

Of course, this relationship only means there will be additional resources the will not be available for the Jeep upgrade fund.

(its so sad to see a vehicle treated like the proverbial "red-headed step child")

Update- March 2019

Daniel and Jenna (aka Perptetrator's 2 & 2A) were not satisfied to with rate at which they deprived the Jeep of funds, so they into the world the cutest little jeeper ever.  His name is John David ( Johnny) aka Perpetrator 2B.

Little  Johnny will definitely be the cause of death of the new Jeep JKU.  His Grandmother, aka "She Who Must Be Obeyed" (SWMBO), is unable to go into a store without finding something Johnny "NEEDS" very badly.

(Do you hear a wailing in the background?  You might think that is a new born baby crying, but no, it is the sound of a heart broken Jeep  his impending demise!)

Update- August 2020

Daniel and Jenna (aka Perptetrator's 2 & 2A) spent the last part of 2019 and most of 2020 recording, mixing, and producing their next record. I believe its going to be titled "Intutition", but that is still TBD later.

Little  Johnny is 18 months old and keeps getting cuter each day.  He learned to walk at 9 months and to run at 10 months.  He hasn't stopped since.  Fortunately, he is a very happy little boy.

SWMBO contines to find critical things that Johnny can't possible do without, while at the same time, there doesn't ever seem to be anything the Jeeps needs.

(I guess I'll have to start digging around in the couch cushions for spare change)
